Wines and Makers is about finding great stories. In wine country, we have more than our share of professional winemakers, but there are also folks making wine in their garage after work and weekend wineries happening behind our neighbors doors. The only wine that makes it onto our site is wine we have tasted and respect. Our mission is to share the winemakers vision and their wine with you. We carry limited production wines made in our own community. Each bottle brings with it its own story that you can share with those you care about. We are also committed to bringing hard to find reasonable priced international wine to enhance your everyday meal or takeout.

You will get to know the makers themselves, the challenges they face and the process that leads to a great bottle of wine.

We will help you match your wine needs to your taste in food, to make it complete, add friends.

Kevin Kennedy

It was sleeting and 10 degrees below zero w/ windchill and no one in the right frame of mind would have driven forty miles in that Nebraska storm. But I was in Omaha interviewing for a wine sales job, so the icy roads had to be driven. After the interview, I was getting back into my car when the boss came out and offered me the job. I guess they knew I could weather a storm. I then began what turned out to be ten years of selling for the distributor.

In 1999, I was hired by a winery in the beautiful Alexander Valley, where I started in the tasting room and then worked as tasting room manager for six years. This position put me in the heart of one of the great winemaking regions of the world and gave me a sense of the local lifestyle.

Over the years, I have been fortunate in establishing a lot of great relationships with friends and customers that enjoy a great glass of wine. It is with this in mind that Andrea and I are happy to bring you Wines And Makers. We hope that you enjoy the experience/wine as much as we have!

Andrea Godard

My first memory of wine was the wine my dad made in the closet. I am not sure of the varietal, but it was more than likely a blend of some kind from several spots in the rogue valley. I was too young to try it at the time, but my aunt (whom we all trusted) thought it was decent. His pride and that it got his friends tipsy left an impression.

I grew up to be creative--moving from design to hospitality and events. I also spent many years as an assistant to some great business minds to balance out that creativity. After meeting Kevin in a tasting room right here in Healdsburg, we fell in love, got married, had our daughter and came up with the idea of creating Wines and Makers.

We love the story that comes from a bottle of wine. But what we really enjoy is bringing all the elements of wine, food, music and people together and making them all sparkle.
